Membership
Membership is available to any individual or family. An
application is available on-line and may be mailed in.

Annual membership dues include subscription to the biannual
publication Muscogiana: Journal of the Muscogee Genealogical Society,
ISSN 1042-3419. Those with family memberships will receive only one
journal per family. Annual membership runs from January through
December.

Meetings
The Society holds four meetings a year. The first meeting of the
calendar year is designated as the Annual Meeting. One meeting is
usually in the form of an all-day seminar; another is in the form of a
fieldtrip. The last meeting of the year features a genealogy/local
history program. Please check our program calendar for more information.

Submission of Material for Publication:
Interested parties
are welcome to submit material for publication in Muscogiana.
Submissions should either be printed on 8 ½ by 11 paper and mailed to
the mailing address listed below or saved as a word document and emailed
to
Reagan Grimsley.
To be considered for publication, material must be of cultural and or
genealogical significance to the Original Muscogee County, Georgia area
that consists of Harris County, Talbot County, Marion County,
Chattahoochee County, or the current Columbus/Muscogee County. The
Editor and the Editorial Board make final decisions of the acceptance of
materials for publication. Neither the Muscogee Genealogical Society nor
Columbus State University can accept responsibility for errors or
inaccuracies in material submitted for publication.
The journal recruits material in the following formats: footnoted
articles, genealogical compilations, transcripts of primary source
documents, and book reviews.
Bible records are to be submitted with a photocopy of the title page
showing date of publication, the pertinent entries, a typed
transcription of the entries exactly as they appear in the Bible, and a
notarized statement as to the present owner. Other formats are
considered for publication and prospective contributors should contact
the editor by email at grimsley_reagan@colstate.edu of via the mailing
address listed below.
