The Muscogee Genealogical Society has launched its own YouTube channel, dedicated to:

  • Sharing the history of Columbus, Georgia, and the genealogy of area families
  • Informing researchers about special resources that can help them in their genealogical and historical research.

We hope to be able to post at least one video a month; they will be short (around 7 minutes).

“Researching Columbus, Georgia: Martin’s History of Columbus” by Callie McGinnis, Executive Director of the Muscogee Genealogical Society. Callie talks about the first published history (1874) of Columbus, Georgia. She explains the use of secondary sources in genealogical research and reveals how Martin compiled his book.
